Riverbend Festival: Music, fireworks and fun!

May 27, 2010

The Riverbend Festival, located in the heart of Chattanooga, gives the city something to celebrate this summer. With tons of musical entertainment of multiple genres, exhibits, family fun and more, be sure to mark your calendars for this anticipated event June 11-19.

One of the oldest summer festivals in Chattanooga, Riverbend Festival brings an award-winning nine-day musical festival that draws more than 600,000 patrons annually. Now in its 30th year, the festival combines not only music, but countless activities in which to participate right on the banks along the Tennessee River.

The event boasts five stages with more than 100 bands. World-class entertainment ranges from classic rock, jam bands, country, urban and bluegrass. This year’s lineup includes Alison Kraus, Darius Rucker, The Cadillac Saints, Soul Rebels, Sheryl Crow and many more.

Not only will the festival feature some of the most rocking artists out there, there are plenty of other activities to keep the crowd’s attention. Go and enjoy the festival’s Children’s Village, filled with new rides and activities to entertain children of all ages. Also at the event, the festival will host the Bluecross Riverbend Run and Walk, mobile exhibits and vendors selling fares such as barbecue and funnel cakes. The big finale is marked by a huge fireworks display.

So bring your blankets, lawn chairs and family and friends to enjoy more than a week of music and family fun. General admission pins are available until midnight June 10 at area Kangaroo Express convenience stores for $30. On June 11 the gate price changes to $40. One-night wristbands are $24 and can be purchased at any entry gate of the festival. Senior citizen and military one-night discounts are available for $12. Children 10 years old and younger will be admitted for free.
