katlee's Bio

I have been painting for as long as I could hold a brush. My Granny always had paints, brushes and paper in a box under her TV table, and that was often the first place I went when I got there after giving her a hug.

I took art courses all through junior and senior high school, and loved every class I took. My plan when I graduated was to continue art in college, but I never made it. Life got in the way, and I went
on to a working life instead. I did pick back up on my art about 3 years ago, and haven't looked back since. I see a painting in most things around me.

I have a wide range of subjects, and all of them are close to my heart in some way or another. Even with commissioned paintings, I feel I'm adding beauty to this world. I don't paint things that don't interest me, but since I'm interested in a lot, it makes things a lot easier.

My art is truly an extension of me, of my thoughts, of my life. There is a little of my love in every piece that I do, and all are treated with love, reverence and tender care.

I paint because it's my way of contributing to this path we call life. Some people invent, some people research, some people keep everyday life going smoothly, some people help others... and I paint. It often feels like a honored duty.
