The carousel was originally created by Gustav Dentzel in 1895 and restored as a gift to the people of Chattanooga in the 1980s. The intricately hand-carved and hand-painted menagerie of whimsical animals circles to old-fashioned music from original Wurlitzer and Stinson organs to the delight of the young and the young at heart.
